Pogge is in the hospital after sustaining serious injuries in an auto accident. He's one of my best friends. Go here to offer your good wishes for a speedy recovery.
I'll put up hospital information when his family decides to release it. Right now, I'm respecting their privacy.

Hi,
My son who is (7) has possibly had the Flu twice in the last 30 days. The first Flu was mild and only lasted 2-3 days. In the interim he was sick with Strep and had a fever of 104. Now 2 weeks later he has the Flu symptoms again. This time we are on day 3, and he has been given Tamiflu (he has Asthma). Just wanted to know other peoples Flu experiences were.

11/20/09
In the last 20 days, there have been more than 300 reported deaths in the Ukraine. At least 90 have been studied as cases of hemorrhagic pneumonia, in which the lungs are destroyed, full of blood, appear back in color, and are completely destroyed. These facts are extremely unusual in the 2009 H1N1 pandemic thus far. Because of this, I feel this phenomenon, which is quickly spreading to nearby countries cannot be explained by the Ukraine health system, by AIDS, by the weather, living conditions, or anything else other than the fact that the virus has changed in a way that makes it more deadly. I believe this has been validated by the sequences released by the WHO to date as well as by the fact that five sequences have yet to be released.
However, I do not have the time to maintain this diary by myself. I find that there is an odd lack of curiosity about what is happening in the Ukriane, and why, here at Fluwiki. So, if as a visitor to Fluwiki you want to follow what this story, I recommend the following resources:
In any case, this will all be apparent in the coming weeks. Good luck everyone.

FWEET email was sent out at 1830 Wiki Time on October 13.
If you did not receive it, one of three things may have happened:
1) You've changed email addy since the last email went out in July, or
2) You haven't signed up yet, or
3) The email may have gotten caught up in your spam filter. Check your junk mailbox.
For those who have never signed up for our FluWiki Emergency Email, jump on board!
We send the test emails out quarterly in January, April, July and October.

Decided to open a diary to see if more than our family has experienced what appear to be "multiple" H1N1 cases in the same child/family member.

Okay. Great. I've got a flu. Staying at home, feel miserable, but trying to figure out whether I should just ride it out, or whether I should get tested just to confirm - one way or the other - whether I have H1N1.
Since they say 90% of the flu cases reported have been H1N1, should I conduct myself as IF I have H1N1? Or is that being too presumptuous? I don't want to over-dramatize my absence from work/meetings/etc. Part of me says, "Just stay home, take meds, just like you would for any other flu". The other part of my can't help but be curious. But I really don't feel sick enough to warrant going to a doctor.
Would like to know how others who have recently had some kind of flu handled their own situation.

WOW-We know that children continue to shed the virus for many days after their fever is gone, but we are going to send them back in just 24 hours. Parents will not be overly vigilant with this sort of guideline nor will schools. Am I the only one who is disgusted with this?? Good job America-you are picking the economy over good, sound medical advice. Oh, and by the way, your children will not all be vaccinated until December (hopefully).

This piece was forwarded to me by the "Editor-in-Chief" at FluTrackers, Florida1. It was posted by St. Michael, a member of the site. Hat tip to St. Michael (Brian J. Kopp, DPM).
Dr. David Fedson, is a vaccine expert at Aventis Pasteur MSD in Lyon, France.
This is not meant to further the reach of any church or religious organization. It is simply posted to point out that there are major inadequacies in health care in developing nations.
Please do not comment in regards to it's origins. Thank you.

Dr David Fedson on aiding developing countries in the treatment of pandemic diseases
"The world situation, as the news in recent months amply demonstrates, continues to present serious problems and the "scandal' of glaring inequalities which have endured despite past efforts". These were the words of Pope Benedict XVI during the General Audience Catechesis outlining the fundamental messages of his recently released Encyclical Letter, Caritas in Veritate (see p. 11).
